§ 92.36 MULTI-FAMILY STRUCTURES REQUIRED TO HAVE SMOKE ALARMS.
   (A) The owner or owners of any existing structure used for residential purposes other than a single-family detached dwelling structure shall, no later than July 1, 1988, install electronic smoke detector devices acceptable to the Fire Chief of the village that will sound the alarm in the event of a fire in the structure. Any dwelling structure other than a single-family detached dwelling constructed after the effective date of this subchapter shall not be occupied unless it has electronic smoke detector devices acceptable to the Fire Chief of the village.
   (B) All “Category 1” structures shall have an alarm system that not only sounds a local alarm in the building where it is located, but also notifies either the Village Fire Department or a central dispatch station maintained 24 hours a day that is approved by the Fire Chief.
   (C) All “Category 2” structures or clusters of structures shall have local smoke alarms that sound the alarms within the buildings where they are located.
