(A) Employees of the village are not entitled to paid vacation until they have completed one year of full-time employment with the village. For purposes of vacation time earned, units of vacation credits are earned and taken by units of hours and not work days, due to varying hours of employee work days (eight to 12 hours per day). After one year of service, paid vacation will be granted as follows:
1-5 years: 2 weeks vacation (80 hrs)
6 years: 2 weeks, 1 day (88 hrs)
7 years: 2 weeks, 2 days (96 hrs)
8 years: 2 weeks, 3 days (104 hrs)
9 years: 2 weeks, 4 days (112 hrs)
10 years: 3 weeks (120 hrs)
11 years: 3 weeks, 1 day (128 hrs)
12 years: 3 weeks, 2 days (136 hrs)
13 years: 3 weeks, 3 days (144 hrs)
14 years: 3 weeks, 4 days (152 hrs)
15 years: 4 weeks (160 hrs)
16 years: 4 weeks (160 hrs)
17 years: 4 weeks, 1 day (168 hrs)
18 years: 4 weeks, 1 day (168 hrs)
19 years: 4 weeks, 2 days (176 hrs)
20 years: 4 weeks, 2 days (176 hrs)
21 years: 4 weeks, 3 days (184 hrs)
22 years: 4 weeks, 3 days (184 hrs)
23 years: 4 weeks, 4 days (192 hrs)
24 years: 4 weeks, 4 days (192 hrs)
25+ years: 5 weeks (200 hrs)
(B) (1) In computing the eligibility for vacation rights, prior service with the state or any political subdivision of the state, will be used in determining vacation entitlement as prescribed in R.C. § 124.13.
(2) To earn such entitlement, an employee will be required to submit a letter from their past employer indicating the employee's date of hire and date of separation.
(C) Employees who are separated from municipal service during any calendar year after the effective date of this section, and who have had no vacation during such calendar year, shall be entitled to pay or vacation days.
(D) Employees who retire from the village will be eligible for full vacation credit based upon their anniversary date with the village; not on the current calendar year.
(E) In the event a full-time employee dies while in a regular paid status with the village, any
unused vacation will be paid to the beneficiary named by the employee, and using the anniversary date for computation purposes.
(F) Vacation time cannot be accumulated.
(1) All employees must take their vacation time within the calendar year.
(2) An employee will be permitted to take pay in lieu of time off. With department supervisor approval, one week (40 hours) of vacation time may be sold back to the village. With approval of department supervisor and Mayor, second week (40 hours) of vacation time may be sold back to the village.

(G) Excessive sick leave, disability, maternity, or military leave will reduce an employee's vacation entitlement on a pro rata basis. For the purposes of this section, excessive sick leave, disability, maternity, or military leave are defined as 30 days or more per year.
