§ 32.35 COMPENSATION.
   (A)   The compensation of the police officers, who also are known as patrol officers, shall be not less than the minimum amount nor more than the maximum amount which Council, from time to time, by ordinance shall determine. However, the amounts for each police officer shall be fixed by the Mayor with approval of Council, having due regard to the efficiency and years of service of the individual police officer.    (B)   With the recommendation of the Police Chief, and the approval of the Police Committee, the salary of a newly hired police officer, with at least two years of experience as a police officer, will be the percentage of a regular full-time police officer as follows:
      (1)   75-85% during the probationary period if the police officer has at least two years of prior police experience.
      (2)   95% after the probationary period if the police officer has at least three years prior police experience.
      (3)   100% after the probationary period if the police officer has at least four years of prior police experience.
   (C)   The pay rate of a newly hired police officer, without prior experience, is hereby established as a percentage of a full-time police officer as follows:
      (1)   75% during the one-year probationary period.
      (2)   85% beginning of the second year.
      (3)   95% beginning of the third year.
      (4)   100% beginning of the fourth year.
