§ 32.30 APPOINTMENT.
   (A)   The village shall have a Police Chief, who shall be an elector of the village, and any number of police officers as Council may from time to time determine. The Chief of Police and police officers shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council and subject to Council's confirmation.
   (B)   The village may have part-time police officers who shall be appointed in the same manner as police officers, but shall serve with compensation and fringe benefits, if any, as determined by Village Council.

   (C)   All appointments made hereunder shall be for a probationary period of one year continuous service, and no appointment shall be deemed finally made until the appointee has satisfactorily served his probationary period. At the end of the probationary period, the Mayor shall transmit to Council a record of the employee's service, with his recommendations thereon, and with the concurrence of Council the Mayor may remove or finally appoint the employee as the case may be.
   (D)   The employees finally appointed shall continue in office until removed therefrom for the causes, and under the powers and procedure provided by R.C. §§ 733.35 through 733.39.
