§ 31.05 CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (A)   The Chief of Police shall fully and faithfully perform all duties required of him by law or ordinance or resolution of Council. It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to take care of and preserve the personal property of the village, and generally to protect the property and premises of the citizens from injury and depredation.

   (B)   The Mayor is hereby authorized to waive the mandatory residency of the Police Chief if it has been reasonably demonstrated that the Police Chief's residency is within an acceptable response radius.
