A. Basic Fee Schedule: in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
B. Additional Fees: The following fees shall be charged for the particular services described:
1. Construction work relating to residential buildings:
a. For service with regard to electrical wiring in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
b. For services with regard to plumbing and sanitation in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
c. Accessory or outbuildings (excluding garages), in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
2. Construction work relating to commercial and industrial buildings:
a. For services with regard to electrical wiring at in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
b. For services with regard to plumbing and sanitation in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
C. Permits Required. The following Building Permits are required in the Village of Glen Carbon. The fees for each type of permits are in an amount as shows in the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
1. Accessory Structures
2. Covered Porch
3. Deck
4. Driveway
5. Electrical
6. Fence
7. Non-Residential (Commercial) Additions/Remodel
8. Non-Residential (Commercial) New Construction
9. Plumbing
10. Pool
11. Signs and Banners
12. Residential Additions/Remodels
13. Residential New Constructions
14. Solar
D. Extension of permit beyond the six (6) month commencement period, in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code. Only one extension is granted per approved permit and the request must be made prior to the date of expiration.
E. Providing a duplicate permit card, in an amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1.
F. Processing charge for returned permits, in the amount as shown on the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
G. Failure to obtain a permit prior to construction. A fine will be assessed to any person, firm or corporation who fails to obtain an approved building permit prior to beginning work. The fine shall be in an amount as shown in the Schedule of Fees found in Section 1-16-1 of the Village Code.
H. Penalty: Any person who shall violate a provision of this Chapter or fails to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who erects, installs, alters, or makes repairs in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the code official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this code shall be guilty of an ordinance violation punishable by a fine as shown in Section 1-4-1 of the Village Code. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense. (Ord. 2014-6, 2-11-2014; amd. Ord. 2021-23, 7-27-2021)
