Whenever in this chapter, the following terms are used, they shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
PRECIOUS METALS: Silver, gold and platinum.
PRECIOUS METALS PURCHASER OR PURCHASER: Any individual, partnership, business corporation, association or other private organization engaged in the business of buying secondhand items containing precious metals, including, but not limited to, jewelry, watches, coins, eating utensils, candlesticks, decorative objects, ingots and/or other related items.
Precious metals purchaser or purchaser shall not include any coin collection show or trade fair run by private organizations as such shows or trade fairs shall be exempt from the requirements of this chapter. (Ord. 2012-31, 8-28-2012)
