It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in or carry on any business or activity coming within the scope or definition of any sections in this subchapter without having a license to do so as directed in this subchapter, except any person doing electrical installation on his or her own premises and by his or her own labor. Licensed appliance dealers may install appliances they have sold.
