When required for the convenience and safety of the public and to alleviate unusual traffic problems, the Chief of Police or other authorized city official shall, at his or her discretion, have authority to impose such traffic regulations as he or she may deem necessary for temporary periods not to exceed two weeks. If these temporary regulations are necessary for a period longer than two weeks, the City Clerk/Administrator shall be notified, in writing, of the extended order.
