(A) With the approval and consent of the Fire Chief, Police Chief and the Mayor, an employee of either the Fire Department or Police Department may transfer to the other Department and receive full credit for pay purposes for his or her continuous services in the Department from which he or she transfers. His or her pay shall be based upon years of continuous service in the two Departments and the transfer shall not constitute a break in continuous service.
(B) This section shall apply to all employees presently employed by the Fire and Police Departments and all employees subsequently hired by either Department.
