509.16 PARENTS' RESPONSIBILITY.
   No parent, guardian or other adult person having custody or control of any minor under the age of eighteen years shall suffer or permit or by inefficient control to allow such person to be on the streets or sidewalks or on or in any public property or public place within the City between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following day, Sunday through Thursday inclusive, or between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following day, on Saturday and Sunday. However, the provisions of this section do not apply to a minor accompanied by his parent, guardian, custodian or other adult person having the care, custody or control of the minor, or if the minor ls on an emergency errand or specific business or activity directed by his parent, guardian, custodian or other adult having the care and custody of the minor or if the parent, guardian or other adult person herein has made a missing person notification to the Police Department.
   Any parent, guardian or other adult person having care and custody of a child under eighteen years, who violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. In any hearing for a violation of this section by a parent, guardian or other adult person testimony that a minor was found in a place and time in violation of this section without lawful permission or authorization shall be prima-facie evidence that such parent, guardian or other adult person knowingly permitted such violation.
