(a) Any check written against any Municipal fund shall be void after ninety (90) days.
(b) All Municipal checks will be painted with the statement “Void After 90 Days”.
(c) In the event a check written against any Municipal fund becomes void after ninety (90) days it shall be placed in the Unclaimed Cash Fund and remain there until it is claimed by its lawful owner or for a period of five (5) years from the day it was placed in the Unclaimed Cash Fund.
(d) If the lawful owner claims the money after the ninety days, such money is to be paid out of the Unclaimed Cash Fund.
(e) If the money remains unclaimed for a period of five (5) years from the date the money was placed in the Unclaimed Cash Fund, the money shall then revert to the General Fund.
(f) If the lawful owner claims the money after the five (5) year period, such money is to be paid out of the General Fund. (Ord. 13-70. Passed 12-2-13.)
