953.09 SERVICE AND COMPLAINTS.
The contractor shall maintain an office for the transaction of business, including receipt of service calls or complaints, and shall be available for such calls on all working days. Any complaints shall be given prompt and courteous attention. In the event that a regularly scheduled collection is missed and a complaint is received by either the Municipality or the contractor, and where no fault can be found on the resident's part, a special collection of the service location will be required of the contractor before the conclusion of the following work day of the notification of the complaint. In the event that the fault falls upon the resident, the contractor will collect the service location within three (3) working days of notification when requested by the Municipality to do so. The Municipality will only request such service in extraordinary situations where health hazards, nuisances, or hardships may occur if the location is left unserviced at the time of the request.
Should the contractor fail to collect or remove or properly dispose of garbage and other material herein provided for, in accordance with the terms of the contract, the Municipality may, at its option, cause such refuse to be collected and disposed of with all charges incurred by the Municipality to be charged against the contractor. If the contractor fails to meet the requirements of the contract, all or part of the bonds posted by the contractor shall be forfeited. (Ord. 93-04. Passed 2-1-93.)
