A permanent meter for sprinkling will be provided by the City upon written application from the property owner requesting such, a meter under the following terms:
(a) The property owner shall be responsible for the cost of the meter, which shall include an approved backflow prevention device.
(b) The meter shall be installed and inspected by an employee of the City's Department of Public Service and the property owner shall be responsible for the parts necessary to make the installation as well as the labor for installation and inspection. Any auxiliary plumbing required and conducted by or contracted by the property owner shall be at the owner's expense and shall be subject to an inspection by an employee of the Department of Public Service.
(c) The meter shall be set in line after the primary meter and shall be inspected on a periodic basis to determine that no cross connections have been made to the domestic water line.
(d) The meter shall be read in the manner in which the primary meter is read. The useage for the sprinkling meter shall be deducted from the primary meter and charged a water rate only.
(e) The meter shall be maintained in accordance with existing meter installations. (Ord. 88-33. Passed 7-5-88.)
