(A) No person shall cause or permit any dogfight, cockfight or other combat between animals. In the event there is a reasonable cause to suspect that an animal is involved in a dogfight, cockfight or other combat, custody of such animal and all animals on the same property may be taken by an animal control officer and impounded at the Animal Shelter. The animal may be held as evidence and confined in a humane manner.
(B) No person shall own, possess, keep, train, exercise, breed or raise any dog or other carnivore, bird or animal with the intent that such dog or other carnivore, bird or animal be utilized, sold, given or leased for fighting and/or engaged in an exhibition of fighting. In the event that a person owns, possesses, keeps, trains, exercises, breeds or raises any dog or other carnivore, bird or animal and/or engages in an exhibition of fighting or selling, leasing or giving such animals for fighting, such person shall be liable for citation for violation of this chapter.
(C) No person shall be present at any dogfight, cockfight, animal fighting, or combat between animals. In the event that a person is present at a dogfight, cockfight, animal fighting or combat between animals, such person shall be liable for citation for violation of this chapter.
(D) Any person who is found present at a dogfight, cockfight, or combat between animals, and/or any person who is in possession of an animal that may be used in an animal fight, may be charged with intent to engage in an exhibition of fighting in violation of this chapter. Any animal shall be seized and impounded as defined in this chapter if found on the premises or in the immediate area of the dogfight, cockfight, or combat between animals.
(E) No person may own, possess, keep or utilize any animal fighting paraphernalia with the intent to train, condition and/or fight any animal.
