It is a defense to any violation of this subchapter that: the person was engaged in the defense of property or the defense of a person at the time the firearm was discharged; the person was acting under legal authority to discharge the firearm; or the discharge of the firearm is justified as using reasonable force in effecting an arrest or preventing an escape.
