(A) All fire sprinkler systems shall be installed with a valve to detect leakage and unauthorized water usage and to protect against the flow of non-potable water into water supply lines. Such valves shall have a cast iron body and cover with replaceable bronze seats, with a maximum working pressure of 175 pounds per square inch (psi). Such valves shall have a temperature range of 330°F to 1,100°F (50°C to 403°C). Such valves shall have a hydrostatic test range of 350 psi. Moreover, they shall meet such reasonable specifications as directed by the Director of Public Works.
(B) The water service availability fees, setting the rates and charges for water usage including fees for capacity, fees for new service tap ins, debt services fees, and that the same shall not apply to connections for fire sprinkler systems because there is no contemplated use of water associated with such systems, except for charging lines and for emergencies.
(C) All reasonable costs incurred by the town to install and connect such service shall be paid prior to connection.
