All excavations required for the installation of a building sewer shall be open trench work, unless otherwise approved by the Superintendent. Pipe laying and backfill shall be performed in accordance with ASTM Specification C12-19, except that no backfill shall be placed until the work has been inspected.
All necessary excavations in the Village street or alley rights of way shall be backfilled only with an approved gravel or other granular fill material well compacted. The provisions of Chapter 901 relative to street openings and restoration shall apply to excavations made for the purpose of installing sewers.
