The elective officers shall consist of a mayor and five council members, and these six elective officers shall be qualified electors and shall be elected at large. All elective officers holding office when this charter takes effect shall continue in office for the terms for which they were elected and until their successors are elected and qualify. Each council member shall serve for a term of four years and until his/her successor is elected and qualifies. The mayor shall serve for a term of four years and until his/her successor is elected and qualified.
