(a) General Design Standards.
(1) The entire facility must be aesthetically and architecturally compatible with the environment. The use of residentially compatible exterior materials, such as wood, brick or stucco, is required for associated equipment buildings, which shall be designed to architecturally match the exterior of residential structures within the neighborhood. In no case will metal or concrete block exteriors be allowed for accessory buildings.
(2) The tower itself must be of such design and treated with an architectural material so that it is camouflaged or blends in with surrounding uses so as to be visually compatible with the neighborhood.
(b) Landscape Buffers. Existing on-site vegetation shall be preserved to the maximum extent practical. All towers shall be landscaped with at least one row of evergreen shrubs or trees within twenty feet of the tower's base. Such trees shall be a minimum of six feet high when planted and spaced not more than ten feet apart. These trees and shrubs shall be planted in any configuration which will serve to better buffer the site.
(c) Fences. Fences constructed of wood, brick or chain link shall be used to secure the site and provide an opaque barrier. Such fences shall be used in conjunction with landscaping to provide security or increase the buffer with the adjacent residential uses. In no case will barbwire or razorwire fencing be permitted in residential districts. (Ord. 2802. Passed 4-8-97.)
