The imposition of any penalty shall not preclude the Village from instituting an appropriate action or proceeding in a court of proper jurisdiction to prevent unlawful construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance or use; to restrain, correct or abate a violation; to prevent the occupancy of a dwelling or structure or to prevent an illegal act, conduct, business or use in or about any dwelling or structure; or to require compliance with provisions of this chapter or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations of the Village or the orders or determinations of the Building Official, the Architectural Board of Review or Council.
