(a) No person shall fire any cannon, gun, rifle, pistol or other firearm of any kind within the Village except as provided in subsection (b) hereof. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any military company when drilling under command of any officer thereof, or to the use of firearms in the lawful defense of one's person, family or property.
(b) The owner or lessee of any real property located within the Village may discharge a firearm upon the property owned or leased by such person, provided that no firearm shall be discharged:
(1) From any building;
(2) Within 200 feet of a public street or highway;
(3) Within 400 feet of any building located on adjacent premises; or
(4) In such a manner that the bullet, pellet or projectile leaves the premises upon which the firearm is discharged.
(c) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
