(A) Vacations will be awarded to employees by the following schedule.

(B) Vacation can be taken in no less than four-hour increments and only with immediate supervisor’s approval.
(C) Employees may not receive additional pay in lieu of time off for vacation. In addition, vacations are not cumulative and normally must be taken in the vacation year immediately following the year in which they are earned. Employees will not be paid for unused vacation at the end of the year. When employment is terminated, employee will receive vacation pay for any unused vacation accrued at the time of termination. If a holiday falls within an employee’s vacation period, an additional day of vacation will be granted.
(D) Any employee who has left employment with the city and is rehired will receive credit for vacation for prior years of service after he or she has been back for a period of time equal to the time of absence between terms of employment.
