This subchapter shall not apply to:
(A) Persons acting for any governmental unit in pursuance of duties and in compliance with law;
(B) Any person in defense of his or her life or the life of another person or the protection of his or her property or property entrusted to him or her by another person and in compliance with law;
(C) Any person attacked by a vicious animal; or
(D) Any sanctioned or sponsored training or shooting activity held in a proper location and approved by the Chief of Police.
