Backfill shall be deposited in 6 inch layers and mechanically tamped in accordance with the requirements of Section 206 "Embankment" and Section 207 "Tamped Fill" of the Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials - Maryland Department of Transportation, January, 2001 as revised. When the trench is located within the paving section or shoulder area, it is to be backfilled with flowable fill and the remaining top 6 inches in paving shall be overlaid with bituminous concrete.
