Where the distance from the roadway edge to the longitudinal trench is less than the depth of the trench, the roadside edge must be tightly sheeted and braced securely against skeleton sheeting on the opposite or far side of the trench; or when any other circumstances exist which require tight sheeting in the opinion of the County Roads Department. All wood sheeting is to be left in place and cut off 1 foot below the finished grade. Metal sheeting may be pulled only as tamped fill progresses.
