The minimum depth of cover for any utility shall be 30 inches from finished grade to the top of the utility unless a greater burial depth is required by federal or state regulations or industry codes. Minimum depths of less than 30 inches to the top of communication or electric vaults may be approved by the County Roads Department where the greater depth of cover would unreasonably restrict utility operations.
