(A) Application for license as gasfitter, appliance installer, gasfitting contractor, and appliance installation contractor shall be filed with the City Finance Officer and approved by the City Council. The applicant shall pay to the City Finance Officer the following fees as applicable:
(1) Gasfitters license: $25 per year;
(2) Appliance installer license: $25 per year;
(3) Appliance installation contractor’s license: $25 per year; and
(4) Gasfitting contractor’s license fee shall be $100 for two years and $100 renewal every two years thereafter.
(B) Any gasfitting contractor who lets his or her license lapse may be subject to examination by the city and shall pay the initial first-year fee again.
(C) At the time of the passage of this subsection, existing licensed appliance installation contractors are hereby authorized to act as gasfitting contractors without license or examination and to make installation of gas equipment; provided that said installation are in compliance with the regulations governing the said gasfitting contractors, for the calendar year 1997. By January 1, 1998, all acting gasfitting contractors must make applications for a gasfitting contractor’s license at the regular license fee.
