§ 52.22 LICENSE QUALIFICATIONS.
   (A)   Applicants for gasfitter’s or appliance installer’s license shall furnish the city with satisfactory evidence of their qualifications as gasfitters or appliance installers and shall be required to pass an examination given by the city. If the city deems the applicant to be qualified as a gasfitter or appliance installer, the city shall approve the application. The city, when determining the qualifications of an applicant, may call upon a master plumber, gasfitter, appliance installer, or other persons for assistance. Each gasfitter or appliance installer must work under the control and supervision of a gasfitting or appliance installation contractor. However, nothing in this chapter shall prevent an individual from being licensed as a gasfitter or appliance installer, and a gasfitting contractor or appliance installation contractor. If applicant is presently licensed by the state, a license will be issued by the city upon payment of licensing fee.
   (B)   (1)   Any person desiring to engage in or work at the business of a gasfitting contractor or appliance installation contractor shall furnish the city with satisfactory evidence of their qualifications as gasfitting contractors or appliance installation contractors.
      (2)   If the city deems the applicant to be qualified as a gasfitting contractor or appliance installation contractor, the City Gas Inspector shall approve the application. The city, when determining the qualifications of an applicant, may call upon another person or persons for assistance.
   (C)   Every gasfitting contractor or appliance installation contractor shall be required, at all times, to have a licensed gasfitting or licensed appliance installer in charge of all work as a condition for the issuance and maintenance of their license, except in the case where an individual holds both a gasfitting and gasfitting contractor, or appliance installer and appliance installation contractor license.
