(A) The Ethics Board shall be permitted to adopt any additional rules, policies, and procedures not defined within this subchapter.
(B) It shall be unlawful for any individual to retaliate in any way against any individual who requests an advisory opinion from the Board of Ethics. However, this provision shall not in any way abrogate an individual's right to seek civil remedies.
(C) This subchapter is intended to be supplementary to other legal requirements. This subchapter shall be reasonably interpreted and shall not be construed to abrogate in any way the provisions of state law, or applicable provisions of the City Charter.
(D) All city officials shall be required to read this subchapter and acknowledge that they have read its provisions by signing a copy of it.
(E) The City Clerk shall deliver a copy of this Ethics Ordinance to all current and newly elected and appointed officials and members of the boards and commissions of the City of Garden City at the time of their appointment.
