§ 94.20 MOVING OF STRUCTURES; PERMIT.
No person shall move, transport, or convey any building, house, or other similar bulky or heavy object upon any city street without first obtaining a permit and filing a bond in a sum as shall be fixed by the Director or designated representative, but not to exceed $20,000. The amount of the bond shall be commensurate with the risk of damage or injury involved. The permit shall designate the route to be followed, the time within which the movement shall be completed, and any necessary repairs to any street or installation upon, in or over any street, or any trees, resulting from the movement done under the permit. No permittee shall fail to comply with the conditions specified on the permit, nor fail to obey any order of the Director or designated representative given in connection with the movement of any building. No person shall fail to promptly restore any damage done by him under the permit, to the satisfaction of the Director or designated representative. No permit shall be granted except under the prior approval of the City Council if the movement is of a structure other than pre-manufactured housing, to any location within the city. Approval shall be withheld unless the proposed movement complies with the Building Code.
