(A) The 2021 Edition of the International Fire Code with Appendices, as published by the International Code Council (ICC), or any subsequent edition as approved by the ICC, is adopted by the city. In the event of a conflict between the provisions of the National Fire Codes and the International Fire Code, the more stringent of the two shall govern. A complete copy of the International Fire Code is available for public use and inspection at the office of the City Clerk.
(B) The following sections and subsections of the 2021 Edition of the International Fire Code with Appendices are hereby amended or repealed as set forth. Subsequent section numbers used in this section shall refer to the like-numbered sections of the International Fire Code.
(1) Section 101.1 of the Code is amended to read as follows:
These regulations shall be known as the Fire Code of the City of Garden City, hereinafter referred to as "this code".
(2) Section 110.4 of the Code is amended to read as follows:
Person who shall violate a provision of this code or shall fail to comply with the requirements thereof or who shall erect, install, alter, repair or do work in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the fire code official, or of a permit or certificate used under the provisions of this code, shall be responsible for a municipal civil infraction punishable by the fine specified in § 41.06 of the Garden City Code of Ordinances. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
