§ 37.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ADMINISTRATOR. Person or firm designated by the Clerk-Treasurer.
   AVERAGE WEEKLY WAGE. With respect to a base period of employment, the amount determined by dividing total wages paid by the city for credit weeks earned in the employment of the city by the number of credit weeks chargeable to the city as employer.
   BASE PERIOD. The period of 52 consecutive calendar weeks ending with the day immediately preceding the first day of an individual's benefit year.
   BENEFIT YEAR. With respect to any individual the period of 52 consecutive calendar weeks beginning with the first calendar week with respect to which the individual, who does not already have a benefit year in effect, files a claim for benefits under this chapter, provided that the individual has earned wages of at least $25.01 in 14 or more calendar weeks within the base period. Each week shall be a CREDIT WEEK.
   BENEFITS. The money payments payable to an eligible and qualified individual, as provided in this chapter, with respect to unemployment.
   PART-TIME EMPLOYEE. A person who is employed for less than an 8-hour day or less than a 40-hour week.
   SEASONAL EMPLOYEE. A person who is employed to work during a particular seasonal period, or on a particular seasonal program.
   TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE. A person who is employed for a regular work day and/or regular workweek, but not for more than a period of 150 work days.
   UNEMPLOYED. An individual shall be deemed unemployed with respect to any week during which he performs no services and with respect to which no remuneration is payable to him, or with respect to any week of less than full-time work, if the remuneration payable to him is less than his weekly benefit rate.
   WAGES. Remuneration paid for employment, but not including any employee payment for life or health insurance, pension, equipment allowance, or similar payment.
