(A) The Board shall fix and determine by appropriate rules and regulations the amount of service to be credited any member. In no case, however, shall less than ten days of service rendered in any calendar month be credited as a month of service; nor shall less than nine months of service rendered in any calendar year be credited as a year of service; nor shall more than one year of service be credited for all service rendered by a member in any calendar year. Firefighters working on 24-hour shifts shall be granted three service days for each shift they work in order to meet the minimum ten-day service requirement for monthly retirement service credits. (B) The Board shall credit each member's service account with the number of years and months of service to which he may be entitled.
