(A) All officers and employees of departments, commissions, boards, institutions, and other agencies of city government designated by the Mayor as emergency management forces shall cooperate with the Director in the formulation of the emergency management plan, and they shall comply with the orders of the Director when orders are issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. All emergency management forces shall apprise the Director of conditions in the city resulting from attack or natural disaster, and they shall notify the Director of any condition threatening to reach the proportions of a natural disaster as defined herein. Failure to notify the Director, however, shall not prevent the Director from exercising any authority assigned to him in this chapter or delegated to him by the Mayor. (‘83 Code, § 34.07)
(B) City employees assigned to duty as part of the emergency management forces pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall retain all of the rights, privileges, and immunities of city employees, and shall receive the compensation incident to their employment. (‘83 Code, § 34.11)
