The purpose of the Human Relations Commission shall be to promote the purpose of the Fair Housing Act, Public Act 112 of 1968, as amended, and to secure for all individuals in the city freedom from discrimination in real estate transactions because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, or handicap.
