(A) Pursuant to Public Act 18, Extra Session of 1933, being M.C.L.A. § 125.651 et seq., as amended, the Housing Commission is created. (‘83 Code, § 33.045)
(B) The Commission shall consist of five members to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council. City employees and/or officials other than elected officials are eligible for appointment to the Commission. The term of office of the members of the Commission shall be five years. Members of the first Commission existing hereunder shall be appointed for the terms of one year, two years, three years, four years and five years respectively, and annually thereafter one member shall be appointed for the term of office of five years. Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation and may be removed from office by the appointing authority. Any vacancy in office shall be filled by the appointing authority for the remainder of the unexpired term. (‘83 Code, § 33.046)
