§ 32.02 ORDINANCE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
   The position of Ordinance Enforcement Officer, under the supervision of the Police Chief, is for the purpose of a more selective and effective enforcement of nuisance, general building, public service, and business licensing ordinance provisions. The officer, if qualified and authorized by his supervisor, may carry a sidearm. He shall, in his enforcement duties be permitted to issue a “citation,” i.e., a complaint or notice, to any alleged violator, a complaint of notice, upon which he shall record any occurrence involving one or more violations of this code by the person cited, demanding the violator to appear in court within a reasonable time to answer the alleged violation contained in the citation. The permission herein granted shall not be construed as granting the officer the power to arrest.
