(A) The Youth Commission will consist of 11 members of the community. Seven members shall be students enrolled in school and range from 13 to 18 years old and four adult members, who have shown initiative within the community to empower the youth, with the goal to be all inclusive and accurately reflecting the city’s population. No members shall be elected officials of the city; however, one elected official may serve as an ex officio member to the Commission. The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, shall appoint the members.
(B) The city youth members as well as the other four community members shall serve a one-year term with the ability of serving two terms but not exceeding three. Each youth representative shall receive a monthly stipend of $30 if they attend a Youth Commission meeting during that month.
