For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BUILDING. A house, commercial building, industrial building or any structure of a size great enough so that the moving thereof over a street would cause hazard or inconvenience to any person.
BUILDING INSPECTOR. The Building Inspector of the city or his or her duly authorized delegate.
INTERFERING STRUCTURE. Any wire, cable, conduit, pipe, tree, pole, curb, sidewalk, pavement or other structure or device located in or about a street which must be temporarily relocated or otherwise altered in order to facilitate the passage of a building.
OVER. Includes “on,” “across” and “upon.”
PERMITTEE. The person to whom a permit is issued pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter.
STREET. Any public street or public alley within the corporate limits of the city.
TRAILER. Every vehicle, without motive power, designed for carrying property and for being drawn by a motor vehicle. For the purpose of this chapter, a TRAILER must be licensed as a vehicle of the second division pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Illinois Vehicle Code (ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, §§ 3-100 et seq.), or a similar statute from another state.
TRUCK. Every motor vehicle designed, used or maintained primarily for the transportation of property.
