The installation of nonmetallic sheathed cable (romex) is hereby prohibited in buildings other than single-family, two-family and multi-family residences; provided, however, nonmetallic sheathed cable shall be permitted in nonresidential buildings using wood frame construction, provided the cable is concealed within the wood structure and the Code permits the use of nonmetallic sheathed cable.
