§ 150.080 ELECTRICAL LICENSING BOARD.
   (A)   Appointment. The Mayor of the city, with the advice and consent of the Council, shall appoint a board to consist of five members, to be known as the Electrical Licensing Board, hereinafter referred to as “Board.” One member shall be the City Electrical Inspector, and he or she shall be the ex officio chairperson of the Board. One member shall be the Fire Marshall of the City Fire Department. One member shall be an electrical contractor who is licensed to perform electrical work within the corporate limits. One member shall be a representative of Ameren Illinois. One member shall be a journeyman electrician who regularly performs electrical work within the corporate limits. If there is no person within the city qualified to act under any of the above descriptions, the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, may appoint other qualified persons to fill those positions.
   (B)   Term of office. The City Electrical Inspector and the Fire Department representative shall serve as permanent members. The electrical contractor, the journeyman electrician and the representative of Ameren Illinois shall serve for three-year terms.
   (C)   Removal of members. The Mayor may, at his or her discretion, remove any member of the Board with or without cause.
   (D)   Quorum. A majority of the members of the Board shall constitute a quorum to transact business.
   (E)   Meetings. The Board shall meet upon the call of the chairperson, the written request of two or more members, whenever an application is on file for an electrical contractor’s license, or whenever a meeting is desirable and necessary for proper and efficient discharge of the business of the Board.
