(A) Obtaining license or permit. No person shall engage in the operation, conduct or carrying on of any trade, profession, business or privilege, or performing any act whatsoever for which a license or permit is required by any ordinance of the city without first obtaining the license or permit from the city in the manner provided by this chapter.
(B) Penalties. Any person, whether acting as employee, agent, servant or otherwise, who engages in or conducts any business or occupation for which a license or permit is required by ordinance, knowing that the license or permit has not been issued to his or her principal or employer, shall be guilty of an offense and subject to a penalty to the same extent as the principal or employer.
