§ 97.015 DAMAGE TO UNDERGROUND SERVICES.
   (A)   All utilities having underground services within the city limits of the city shall be required to file a plat or plats showing the location of the facilities with the City Engineer who shall be responsible for the plats.
   (B)   Any person is required to contact the City Engineer in order to determine the location of any underground service before making any excavation that might endanger the service. In the case of emergency excavations, notice shall be given as soon as possible, in no case to be longer than the next regular working day.
   (C)   Should any person damage any underground service facility, he or she shall be required to repay the utility concerned for the facility repair or to repair the damaged facility under the direction of the utility concerned.
   (D)   All persons, with the exception of municipally franchised utilities, making excavations that might endanger any underground service facility, shall post bond with the city in the amount of $100 to ensure compliance with division (C) above.
