The City Council shall hold its regular meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month. The meetings shall be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Council chamber in the City Hall, or at any other place as shall be officially designated by the City Council as the place of the meeting. The meeting may be canceled or rescheduled by the City Council by motion or resolution. No meeting shall exceed four hours in its entirety, and no official business shall be conducted after that time; provided, however, that any meeting may be extended for one additional time period of not more than 15 minutes, upon the affirmative vote of six members of the corporate authorities, or upon the affirmative vote of all the corporate authorities then in attendance, in the event less than six members of the corporate authority are present at the meeting. An adjourned meeting may be held at any time or place within the city limits which may be designated by the City Council. An annual schedule of meeting dates will be prepared and approved each fiscal year by the City Council.
