§ 91.036 LANDING AND DEPARTURE.
   Landing and departing aircraft shall conform to the following.
   (A)   They shall load or unload passengers, baggage or cargo only in the ramp area designated by proper marking or as designated by the airport manager and in a manner as will not interfere with the free movement of other persons or aircraft in the area.
   (B)   No aircraft shall perform warm-up or engine test operations in the ramp area, or in any area that would result in a hazard to other aircraft, persons or property.
   (C)   No aircraft shall be left unattended unless properly secured or placed within a hangar.
   (D)   No aircraft engine shall be started or run unless a competent person shall be at the controls and effective brakes shall be on and locked or wheels blocked.
   (E)   All aircraft shall be parked in the areas designated by the airport manager or the fixed base operator. A diagram of aircraft parking areas is posted on the bulletin board of the fixed base operator’s office.
   (F)   Any person damaging runway or taxiway light fixtures or any other fixture on the airport premises shall immediately report the damage to the airport manager or to the office of the fixed base operator, and shall be fully responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of same, making the payment on demand to the city.
   (G)   No aircraft equipped with tail skids may land on the airport without special permission from the airport manager or fixed base operator, except in case of emergency.
   (H)   Fixed-wing aircraft shall land and take off from the asphaltic concrete runways and when possible shall advise its position and intent by the use of the Unicom frequency.
   (I)   All aircraft utilizing the Galesburg Municipal Airport will adhere to federal air regulations pertaining to airport traffic patterns, and in addition will adhere to traffic and altitude patterns specified herein. Diagrams of these patterns will be displayed on fixed base operation bulletin boards.
      (1)   All aircraft will fly a left-hand rectangular pattern at least 800 feet above the terrain and the base leg of the pattern will be at least 500 feet beyond the end of the runway being used.
      (2)   Landing aircraft shall maintain traffic pattern altitude until turning onto base leg prior to commencing final approach.
      (3)   Departing aircraft shall climb straight ahead until reaching 400 feet above the terrain, approximately 1,000 feet beyond the end of the runway from which departure was made and shall continue to climb after the first turn until an altitude of 800 feet above the terrain is reached on the downwind leg of the traffic pattern. These altitudes and distances may be altered for unusually fast or heavy aircraft at the discretion of the pilot, the alterations being in keeping with safe flying practices.
      (4)   Aircraft making touch-and-go landings shall touch down no more than once without completing a circle of the pattern.
