The maximum distance between valves shall be 2,000 feet and valves shall be installed on all sides of each water main connection. A valve shall be installed between the main and a fire hydrant on feeder lines eight inches in diameter and larger. All valves shall have a valve box extended to grade and flush with the surface of the ground. All valves shall be furnished by the city.
