§ 36.53 PAY RATES FOR TRANSFERS, PROMOTIONS AND DEMOTIONS.
   If an employee is transferred, promoted or demoted his rate of pay for the new class shall be determined by the Mayor as follows:
   (A)   In the case of a transfer or promotion, if the rate of pay for the former class is less than the minimum rate established for the class of the new position the rate shall be advanced to the minimum of the class to which transferred or promoted.
   (B)   In the case of a transfer or demotion, if the rate of pay in the former class is more than the maximum rate established for the class of the new position, the rate of pay shall be reduced to the maximum rate of the position classification to which transferred or demoted.
   (C)   In case of transfer for the good of the city or the employee and not in the nature of a promotion or demotion, the rate of pay shall remain the same.
