(A) The following legal holidays will be observed as paid holidays for city employees:
(1) New Year's Eve Day;
(2) New Year's Day;
(3) President's Day, the third Monday in February;
(4) Good Friday;
(5) Memorial Day;
(6) Independence Day;
(7) Labor Day;
(8) Thanksgiving Day;
(9) Friday after Thanksgiving Day;
(10) Christmas Eve Day; and
(11) Christmas Day.
(B) When New Year's Eve, Memorial Day, Independence Day or Christmas Eve Day fall on Saturday the preceding day shall be observed as a holiday. When New Year's Eve Day or Christmas Eve Day fall on Sunday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a holiday. When Memorial Day or Independence Day fall on a Sunday, the following day shall be observed as a holiday. If New Year's Day or Christmas Day fall on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as a holiday.
(C) When the actual holiday and the ordinance holiday fall on different days, the members of the Police Department shall receive holiday pay for working on the actual holiday. Regular pay shall be received for working on the ordinance holiday.
