The members of the Police Department shall devote their whole time and attention to the discharge of their duties according to the ordinances of the city and the rules and regulations which the Chief of Police or Director may prescribe from time to time. It shall be the duty of each member of the Police Department to preserve order, peace and quiet and to enforce the laws and ordinances throughout the city.
